Acton-Boxborough United Way works to create a community where everyone belongs and thrives. This means addressing immediate needs while breaking long-term cycles of exclusion by uprooting systemic structural causes that keep problems in place. To do this we design and lead collaborative efforts, advance initiatives within and across sectors, and award targeted grants that, together, form our organization’s agenda for social impact.
For our 2022-2023 Community Impact Grants, ABUW is looking for organizations that equitably, effectively, and sustainably drive progress on our Thrive2024 Impact Focus Areas: Mental Health, Early Childhood Success, Equity & Racial Justice, Financial Stability, and Crisis Preparedness.
Applications are posted on our website and due March 11th. For those who have applied before, you'll note that our process has been updated. There is now a streamlined application for requests up to $5,000, and a more robust application for larger requests. The larger grant awards will range from $5,000 up to $20,000; however, larger scale collaborative projects that are more than $20,000 will be considered if the funding request is justified by the impact of the process.
For this round, applicants must be a registered nonprofit organization. However, we are putting aside a pool of funding to support projects/initiatives not associated with a 501(c)3. Applications for that funding will open later in the spring.
Our community review process will take place in the spring (more information on how you can participate coming soon!), with grantees announced at our Annual Meeting on June 14th, and funding starting in July.
